Abstract

Cardiac hemangioma is a rare benign cardiac tumor. Herein, we report a case of a large cardiac mass in the inter-atrial septum, presenting with syncope. Multimodality imaging correctly characterized the cardiac hemangioma preoperatively and helped plan the surgical excision of this rare cardiac tumor.

Coronary angiography, performed as part of preoperative planning, showed normal coronaries. However, the right coronary artery on a right anterior oblique view (2A) showed a large vessel arising from the paraostial segment of the right coronary artery, seen feeding the tumor with large vascular channels, which retained the contrast for a long time. This finding raised the suspicion of a vascular tumor, namely hemangioma.
