Mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) of the airways is a rare entity most often found in young patients. We present a case of a 23 year old patient with symptoms of pneumonia, which progresses to a pulmonary abscess within a week. Diagnostic work-up reveals an endobronchial obstruction by a pedunculated low grade MEC. A literature review is provided and radiological appearances are described.Downloads
